Halle Orchestra Project

The sessions have been an instant hit with the residents. Among them was Christine Jones, 65, who said: “I have loved it. We have had a fantastic time and it’s great that everybody has a chance to be part of it”.

It was an emotional experience for 90-year-old Elsie Parker whose adopted daughter was a talented violinist.

“It was marvellous. My adopted daughter, Patricia, passed a scholarship to train at the London College of Music. She died about six year ago so this has meant a lot me. It brought back a lot of memories – I have shed a tear or two. I have really enjoyed it though.”

Sarah Edwards Pendine Park’s resident artist was delighted “We are blown away that the Hallé Orchestra have come to work with us. This has given the residents a lot of pleasure and the joy on their faces makes it all worthwhile. A project like this is enormously valuable. You can’t put a price on quality of life and this is about improving people’s quality of life and making them happy by making beautiful music”.

Proprietor Mario Kreft added “At Pendine we have always believed that art in all its forms has a very important place in the well-being of people. Our award winning art therapy has made a real difference to people lives and we will certainly be building on the success of these music therapy workshops in the future.”
